On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Shuswap’s largest Heritage destination, R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum, is proud to partner with the Salmon Arm Jazz Club for an evening of jazz in the park! Enjoy a gourmet meal from the Village’s licensed Sprig of Heather restaurant and some of the finest jazz in the Shuswap.

Join Salmon Arm’s own Jake McIntyre-Paul on bass leading a quartet of the region’s finest musicians for a swinging evening of jazz standards and originals for another Burgers & Jazz in the Village at R.J. Haney Village in Salmon Arm, Thursday, August 28, hosted in partnership with the Salmon Arm Jazz Club. 

Jake has another special evening planned featuring Liam Nadurak on trumpet, Colin Spence on piano, and Issac Chatterton on drums. He's pulling some of his very favourite charts to put in front of this stellar group. There's no denying it - these cats can swing!

Jake is well known to Shuswap audiences for his genre-spanning abilities on bass and guitar. An alumni of the School District 83 music programs, Jake went on to study at the Capilano University Jazz studies program in 2018 before returning to Salmon Arm in 2020.

After four years playing professionally he returned to the Capilano University Jazz studies program in 2024 to once again study full time with some of Canada's finest musicians including Bill Coon, Brad Turner, and Andre Lechance. He has also been studying big band performance with the legendary Jill Townsend.

This will be Jake’s last show for the summer before returning to the coast to resume his music studies. 

R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum is a registered not-for-profit charitable organization that proudly preserves the history of Salmon Arm and the surrounding areas. The Jazz Club sees this summer performance as a step in developing more music entertainment options in our community and a way to support R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum’s projects and educational programs.
