The Salmon Arm Jazz Club is partnering with First Community, Voice of the Shuswap Radio, and a whole conglomeration of local musicians to host a benefit concert to raise funds for communities challenged by the current wildfires.
Come out Friday, August 21 for an evening of music in support of evacuees from the Bradley Creek and Bald Range wildfires. Proceeds will go toward supporting evacuees at the Naramata Centre, and the North Okanagan Community Foundation's wildfire relief fund. The evening will showcase a variety of acts from choral music to classical guitar, original tunes, and a set of all-star musicians playing standards from the jazz tradition.
Performers include First Singers and Friends, Jean MacLennan (First Community Musical Director), along with Liisa Befus, Dave Simmons, Andréa Bajová, Ben MacRae & Skye Eriksen, Jake McIntyre-Paul, Callum Orchard, Liam Nadurak, Emilie Bradford, Strauss Whiteside and Andrea Anderson.
Doors open at 7 PM. Seating is first come, first serve. Admission is by donation; cash, cheque, credit card, and online.
