Slide Area is a collaboration born from the mind of trombonist and drummer Gareth Seys in an effort to balance out the scene between all the GUITAR players and shows we have here! HA! In seriousness, we have a plethora of amazing trombonists in this area who deserve to have their talents showcased, and what better way than starting a band with 4 bones and a killer rhythm section?

Local jazz fans might recall an earlier performance by this group in 2019. Yes, its been that long, but the panademic and life in general has prevented a repeat performance — until now. The repertoire will be a community affair with charts coming from all members of the horn section either by commission or by arrangements done themselves. Tunes will range from jazz standards to grunge rock classics, with some great latin music in between!

Trombonists featured in this project are Gareth Seys, Bob Rogers, Wade Dorsey, and Gordon Waters. Remaining members of the band represent an all star lineup of local and Kamloops-based players: Alex Ward (piano), Jordan Dick (guitar), Dance Myth (bass), Brian Pratt-Johnson (percussion) and Richard Graham (drums).
